Feed your roots & renew your health

Hello, I'm Ruth

Let me help you feel better

Do you spend most of your time feeling less than 100% well?

 Do you have digestive issues?

Do you feel exhausted and lacking in get up and go?

Re-occurring issues such as migraines, anxiety or skin complaints?

Are hormonal changes affecting your wellbeing?

Have you been diagnosed as having pre-diabetes?

Do you struggle to sleep well?

Have you been told everything is 'normal' but you still feel rubbish?

What you eat and drink can make a HUGE difference to how you feel.

I discovered the power of food to transform health after a decade of digestive and hormonal issues.  I re-trained as a Nutritional Therapist to be able to help you transform your health as well.  I work with adults and children over zoom and from Fox Hall Clinic, Clevedon, North Somerset.

"Myself and my son saw Ruth at a time of difficult but different health concerns for us both. Ruth's exceptional knowledge, empathy and commitment to us as clients has been amazing. Her recommendations take into account lifestyle and preferences and I have more vitality as a result."

About me

I’m 47 and I live with my partner, 10 year old son and slightly needy but loveable pets in North Somerset.

I first discovered the power of food in my 20s after years of tests and medication did nothing to improve the digestive pain I was in on a regular basis.  Diagnosed with IBS, my life was dictated by whether or not I was experiencing a flare of my symptoms.

After lots of research and some trial and error, I changed my diet and eliminated my gut problems.  It was life-changing to have freedom from the pain and constant worry about how close I was to a loo.

A few years later I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) after experiencing fertility issues.

Using food, natural supplementation and lifestyle changes, I lost weight, reduced my symptoms, and fell pregnant.

Our nutritional needs change over time.  I'm now using natural support for perimenopause to help me navigate the changes I'm experiencing, which can run alongside HRT brilliantly if I choose to take it.

After many ‘just for interest’ courses, I finally formalised my passion in a 3-year diploma with the College of Naturopathic Medicine, receiving a distinction and becoming a registered Nutritional Therapist.

I am also a qualified Nutrigenomics Practitioner with Lifecode GX.  I offer in-person appointments in Clevedon or online via Zoom.

I also work as a charity consultant in the health sector, supporting charities working with people affected by eating disorders, arthritis, diabetes and mental health challenges.

Governing Body Accreditations

I am a fully registered practitioner with the British Association for Nutrition and Lifestyle Medicine (BANT) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC).

BANT is a registering body for nutrition professionals. Its aim is to assist members in attaining the highest standards of integrity, knowledge, competence and professional practice, in order to protect client’s interests and the reputation of nutritional therapy as a profession.

The CNHC is the UK voluntary regulator for complementary healthcare practitioners, which was set up with government support to protect the public by providing a UK register of therapists. This is approved as an Accredited Register by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care.
